本製品は Intel X79チップセット搭載、第2世代 Core i7 Extreme Editionプロセッサ及び発売予定のXeon各シリーズのサーバ/ワークステーション用CPUに対応する、エントリー向けワークステーションマザーボードです。

クワッドメモリチャンネルに対応する、8基のDIMMスロットで最大64GB、DDR3-1866MHzをサポートすることで高速・大容量のメモリアクセスが可能になりました。もちろん対応CPUを搭載することでECCメモリもご利用頂けます。

P9シリーズからリニューアルした「New DIGI+ Power Control」ではCPUコアに加え、メモリコントローラー・メモリ用電源回路にも採用。スムーズな出力によりノイズを抑制することで、高クロック時の安定性を大きく向上します。

4-Way SLI/Quad-GPU CrossFireXに対応するPCI Express3.0 x16スロットを6基搭載。今後発売される22nm CPUと、PCI Express3.0対応グラフィックボードを搭載することで、現行のPCI Express2.0の2倍ものデータ伝送速度を発揮します。オーディオ・ビデオの作成、スペックを要するゲームだけでなく、インテリア・デザイン、航空学および建築設計のような商業用途でもご活用いただけます。
